The beginning of my experiments with multiple exposures: a studio, controlled light, and a single moment split into a few. People become silhouettes, and every shadow leaves a ghost behind it. These frames from parties, jam sessions and New Year's Eve nights are all about the moment right after the flash.

These frames, made between 2006 and 2009, are where I first started playing with multiple exposures in a studio with controlled light. Working this way taught me that a single moment could be altered into a few, and eventually that motion could be added to still photography. That thread led to Triple Take, where the same layering is applied to cities and streets. Shadows is where it started.
